September 16: Homeschool Day at the Garden
10am-1pm
Calling all homeschool families! Come spend the day learning, playing, and exploring at Homeschool Day at the Garden—a hands-on, curiosity-fueled celebration of science, nature, and creativity.
Kids can meet live animals with the Museum of Life and Science, dive into pond dipping for tadpoles and critters, explore a building play zone, and try their hand at framed flower art and other nature-based crafts. With exciting activity booths from Fascinate U Children’s Museum and the Museum of the Cape Fear, plus a special guest appearance and signing by local children’s author Simonette Hibbert, this day is packed with meaningful discovery.
Families will also enjoy:
-
Science stations & interactive demos
-
A native wildflower seed giveaway (for those who complete their activity passport!)
-
Food trucks, sweet treat vendors, and Lucia’s café for lunch and snacks
This event is ideal for homeschool students ages 5–11 (Kindergarten through 5th grade), but all are welcome. Each participating child is just $5, plus Garden admission for adults and siblings. Members save on admission!
✨ Preregister to save your spot—or drop in the day-of for some unhurried, unforgettable learning.
