Homeschool: Plein Air (Outdoor) Painting

September 29 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
September 29 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This homeschool series invites students to grab their brushes and head outdoors for plein air painting—creating art right in the landscapes that inspire it. We’ll practice observation, color mixing, and capturing light, with each session offering a completely new view and challenge. You’re welcome to join one or both sessions—each stands on its own.

Target Audience: Kids ages 6-12 that are interested in learning and implementing new painting techniques and styles. No prior painting experience is necessary. This is a drop-off class.

Format: Brief demonstration of how we will begin sketching our compositions, and how to set up our palettes for optimal color mixing.

About the Instructor Sara-Jane has over 10 years experience teaching both painting and drawing classes. She has a deeply rooted belief that everyone has the ability to paint, if given the right tools! She has taught in New York, Connecticut, Virginia, and now – Fayetteville North Carolina.

What to Know: Please check in with Visitor Services and then meet in the classroom. Come dressed to create art with paints and explore outside.

Fee: $40 per student per session
