Instructor Kia Jones. Artist Statement

As an interior designer and textile artist, I am fascinated by the transformative power of textiles in shaping the ambiance and functionality of interior spaces. Through my work, I seek to harness the emotional and sensory potential of textiles to craft environments that nurture, inspire, and connect us.

By combining traditional craftsmanship with modern materials and techniques, I create bespoke textiles that not only adorn spaces but also tell stories, evoke emotions, and foster a sense of community. My designs weave together color, texture, and pattern to create immersive experiences that engage the senses and elevate the human spirit.

In my current body of work, I am exploring the intersection of textiles and interior design, pushing the boundaries of how fabrics can be used to define, divide, and energize spaces. Through experimentation and innovation, I aim to unlock the full potential of textiles as a medium for interior design, creating environments that are at once beautiful, functional, and deeply meaningful

Join us for this introduction to natural dyeing and discover the beauty and sustainability of plant-based colors!
