SUMMARY:Insect Collection & Curation 2-Night Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Take a closer look at the tiny creatures that help keep our ecosystems running in this hands-on\, two-part adult entomology workshop. \nOn Night One\, participants will learn why insects are so important\, explore basic identification of insect orders and families\, and head into the Garden to try different collection techniques and gather specimens. \nOn Night Two\, you’ll learn the basics of insect pinning\, preparation\, and collection curation using the insects you collected the night before. You’ll leave with your own curated insect collection and the skills to keep exploring at home. \nWith more than one million described insect species worldwide\, insects are the most diverse group of animals on Earth. Learning to recognize them can add a whole new layer of discovery to time spent outdoors — and a greater appreciation for organisms that often go unnoticed or misunderstood. \nOne ticket includes BOTH workshop sessions: \nDates: October 15 & 16\, 2026\nTime: 5:30–7:30 p.m. both evenings\nLocation: Classroom and Garden\nAges: 18+\nFee: $80 non-members | $70 Garden members\n\nLimited Availability.
