Mending by Hand: A Sustainable Stitches Workshop

May 21 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
May 21 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Have a favorite blouse that’s missing a button, a pair of pants you adore with a slight tear? Bring it & learn how to give your closet a second chance.

Join us for a relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop where you’ll learn simple hand-sewing techniques for mending and upcycling clothing — no sewing machines needed. We’ll cover easy skills like patching, repairing seams, sewing on buttons, and decorative visible mending.

Bring 1–2 garments that need a little love (jeans with holes, a torn seam, a missing button, etc.), and learn practical ways to repair and refresh your favorite pieces. Inspired by the textures and patterns of the garden, this class is all about creative repair, sustainability, and slow stitching in a beautiful setting.

No sewing experience required, all skill levels welcome! Aside from garments to mend, all materials will be provided.

Come stitch, relax, and leave with new skills to keep your clothes in use longer.

Tickets: $10 for garden members, $20 for non-members

Limited Availability. Please Preregister athttps://shop.capefearbg.org/SelectEvent.aspx?eventID=1000198
