Nature Play Day & Teddy Bear Picnic

Nature Play Day: Spring Fun 10 am – 12 pm and Teddy Bear Picnic 12-1 pm

Join us for a morning of outdoor fun and spring celebration. Nature Play Day: Spring Fun is an interactive and educational event designed for families with children ages 2-8.

Hands-on activities, games, and learning opportunities are all self-led so families can explore at their own pace.

Activities include:

1. Fairy House Building: Use awesome forest finds from the Garden to create miniature fairy houses with doors, pathways, furniture, and decorations. We’ll leave the fairy houses up around the Children’s Garden for visitors to enjoy!
2. Seed Ball Making: Enjoy getting your hands dirty and creating pollinator-friendly seed balls. These are ready to be scattered in your yard or gifted to friends. To grow your seed balls simply drop, water, and watch them bloom!
3. Playdough Flowers Sensory Table: Get creative and enjoy sensory play, creating your own flowers, garden beds, leaves, and seeds with playdough accessories.
4. Spring Arts and Crafts: Create fun easy spring crafts to take home.
5. Bubbles, Water Play, and Sandbox Toys: Enjoy free play in the beautiful Elanor and Raymond Manning Children’s Garden with giant bubbles, bubble wands, play flowers, sandbox toys, miniature boats and more!
6. Children’s Garden Games: Enjoy yard games like limbo, ring toss, yard darts, giant connect 4, and corn hole.

Lunch:  Join us for lunch with a Teddy Bear Picnic from 12-1 pm. Bring your favorite stuffed animal friend.   You can grab light snack options from Lucia’s Coffee & More in the Visitor Pavilion — OR Bring your own Lunch. The Garden will have tables set up and a select number of picnic blankets available to borrow.

Location: Outdoors in the Children’s Garden

Target Audience: Families with children ages 2-8. All ages are welcome.

Fees: Included with regular garden admission or membership. No pre-registration is required.
