This workshop demystifies the science behind plant regeneration, teaching you how to harness a plant’s natural energy to create entirely new, independent life.

Workshop Benefits/Learning Outcomes:
- Identify Viable Growth Points: Participants will be able to accurately locate nodes and auxiliary buds on various plant species to ensure successful root development.
- Demonstrate Proper Cutting Techniques: Participants will master the use of propagation tools to make clean, sterile cuts that minimize parent plant stress and prevent disease.
- Select Appropriate Propagation Media: Participants will be able to evaluate and choose between water, soil, perlite, or moss based on the specific needs and moisture requirements of different plant types.
- Manage Post-Propagation Care: Participants will develop a maintenance plan for “infant” plants, including regulating humidity, light exposure, and acclimation to ensure a high survival rate during the transition to independent growth.

Presenter: Chad Shelby has been studying Horticulture since 2018. He has a passion for education and loves to bring excitement and passion to the classroom. He has been the project manager for several pro bono projects, specifically for non-profits organizations. Chad has spent the past six months developing new and exciting Horticulture Education programs for CFBG and is excited to share them with the public.
