Light up your space with a handmade lantern! In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn techniques for constructing decorative lanterns using simple materials and tools. Create a unique piece to brighten your home or garden while gaining skills you can use for future projects.

Audience Target: Adults and teens ages 10+. Ideal for anyone interested in creating their own lantern.  

Format: Classroom Workshop

Workshop Benefits/Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify suitable materials and tools for constructing safe and durable lanterns.
  • Demonstrate basic assembly techniques to create a functional and visually appealing lantern.
  • Design a personalized lantern incorporating color, texture, and decorative elements.
  • Apply safety practices and finishing touches to ensure the lantern is both attractive and long-lasting.

Fee: $40, $30 for members – (Includes materials, instruction and admission to the Garden)

Presenter: Adam Premo, Horticulture Director at Cape Fear Botanical Garden, brings nearly 25 years of horticulture experience across nonprofits, zoos, municipalities, and colleges. Adam is known for blending creativity and plant knowledge to spark joy in gardeners of all ages.
