DESCRIPTION:Join us for a vibrant journey through folk art traditions\, as we celebrate the tiny heroes of our ecosystem – pollinators! In this 3 part homeschool art series\, students will create their own pollinator painting. They will be able to choose colors\, mix and match patterns\, while creating colorful handmade pieces inspired by bees\, butterflies\, and beetles. Each class will highlight a new pollinator\, blending creativity with nature.  \nTarget Audience: Kids ages 6-12 that are interested in learning and implementing new painting techniques and styles. No prior painting experience is necessary.  \nFormat: Step by step instruction. The instructor will paint alongside the class\, demonstrating each layer of the painting\, so students can follow along and leave that day with their very own finished painting.  \nAbout the Instructor: Sara-Jane has over 10 years experience teaching both painting and drawing classes. She has a deeply rooted belief that everyone has the ability to paint\, if given the right tools! Learn how spiders weave their incredible webs\, why they’re important to our ecosystems\, and what makes them different from insects. We’ll look at real spider webs using spray bottles to make the thin silky strands visible. We’ll also create our own. \nAges 6+ This is a drop-off class.  \nWhat to Know: Please check in with Visitor Services and then meet in the classroom. DESCRIPTION:Every Nature Tales includes an engaging\, themed storytime led by Cumberland County librarians and a child friendly craft project selected and prepared by CFBG environmental educators. Storytimes are enhanced with engaging songs\, puppets\, and movement breaks. Themed crafts allow children to connect with nature and create a souvenir of their Garden experience. \nTarget Audience: Designed for ages 2-5 with a parent or guardian. Siblings are welcome to accompany if included on the registration (please include this in the Additional Requirements section). \nCome dressed for the weather outside! There are two back-to-back one-hour sessions of this class offered on two different days. The same class is offered multiple times to accommodate more kids. \nStorytime Benefits:\n– Develops Early Language and Literacy Skills\n– Encourages Interest in Nature and Science\n– Promotes Creativity and Art\n– Supports Preschool Social and Emotional Development \nThis program is completely FREE.
