From engagements and graduations to maternity and family portraits, Cape Fear Botanical Garden offers a stunning natural setting for all types of photography sessions. Whether you’re a professional photographer or capturing a special moment for yourself, the Garden provides a one-of-a-kind backdrop with vibrant landscapes, seasonal blooms,
and scenic trails.
Cape Fear Botanical Garden defines photography in three ways.
Capture the memories of your visit! Guests and members are welcome to take casual snapshots for personal use while exploring the Garden. A snapshot is considered an informal, quick photograph taken without artistic or commercial intent. Visitors must follow the Garden’s general photography policies and are encouraged to share their photos on social media.
There is no fee for this type of photography. No prior
notice required.
Any posed photography—including wedding, engagement, family, maternity, prom, graduation, and similar sessions—falls under Portrait Photography, whether taken by a professional or amateur photographer, paid or unpaid. All portrait sessions must be scheduled in advance with Visitor Services. Call 910-486-0221 to schedule.
A fee (single-session or photography membership) and advance scheduling are required. Reservations are accepted between 48 hours and 4 weeks of your session. Walk-in sessions are not permitted. See below
for fee schedule.
Images intended for resale, marketing, or promotional use. This includes fashion shoots, advertisements, product promotions, brand campaigns, and any photography used for commercial gain. If images will be sold, used in advertising, or published for business purposes, they fall under this category.

Advance application, approval, and fees apply. Contact Visitor Services for Details. 910-486-0221
