Accessibility

Due to the nature of the property some areas may present challenges to those with mobility issues and those using wheelchairs or walkers. Walkway and trail surfaces include paved, crushed stone, mulch and packed earth, with an occasional tree root.

Woodland areas account for 60 of our 80 acres. The trail systems through these areas reflect the natural characteristics of the terrain. Weather conditions also may impact the site conditions and difficulty at any time. The woodland, river and overlook trails are susceptible to such conditions. 

The Wyatt Visitors Pavilion Complex is fully accessible and ADA compliant. Cape Fear Botanical Garden strives to provide accessibility to all visitors to the best of our abilities and encourage those with special needs to contact us in advance by telephone or e-mail. The Garden does NOT have wheelchairs or scooters available for rental. 

For visitors with disabilities, the Garden offers golf cart guided tours during regular Garden hours. A reservation with a week’s notice is required. All tours are pending availability due to staff availability. Please call (910) 486-0221 for more information.

Parking is free and can accommodate RVs, busses and other large vehicles during regular admission hours. Handicap parking is available. All vehicles must be removed daily. Gates to parking area are locked at closing time.

During special events, parking may extend to alternative lots or service road.

Visit the Garden Terrace Gift Shop during your visit to find thoughtfully curated garden & botanical themed décor and gifts for all ages. Our merchandise is as ever changing as the seasons and always includes items for those special remembrance days and holidays.

We feature snacks and wines made right here in North Carolina, as well as unique handmade items created by local artisans. In addition, we have a great selection of creative toys to delight the little ones and a beautiful assortment of live houseplants and planters to liven up your living space.

The gift shop is open during all Regular Admission hours.

Only service animals are permitted during general admission. Some special events, like Dog Day, may allow pets. In all cases, animals must be on a leash.

With countless exquisite backdrops, the Garden is a beautiful place for taking photographs. While guests are welcome to take photos there is a Garden Photography Policy. Please download and read before planning your photo shoot. A fee applies and a reservation is required. If a photo shoot is scheduled after business hours, the cost will be $50 per hour. To schedule a photo shoot or for additional questions, please call the Garden Gift Shop (910) 486-0221 ext 36.

The use of drones is not allowed in the Garden.

Lucia’s Coffee & Treats is located within the Wyatt Visitors Pavilion and is open daily, except Tuesdays. Other grab-and-go snacks and drinks are available in the gift shop. You may also bring your own food, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

Yes, you may bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages into the Garden, along with blankets or chairs for a personal picnic. Some picnic seating is available if not being used by other events and is first-come; first-serve.

Cape Fear Botanical Garden is a smoke & vape free facility indoors and outdoors.

Safety and health concerns prohibit firearms, helium balloons, pets, bicycles, scooters, and recreational vehicles in the Garden.

Butterfly and bird releases are prohibited in the Garden.

During your visit you may be filmed, videotaped, and/or photographed by a Garden employee or contract photographer. Your admission serves as permission for the use of your image by the Garden and its constituents.
