SUMMARY:Family Symphony Day in the Garden
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a joyful\, family-friendly afternoon where music and nature come together at Cape Fear Botanical Garden\, featuring a special live performance from the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra on Sunday\, March 22\, 2026. \nThe afternoon begins with the FSO Youth Orchestra at 3pm At 4pm\, the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra will take the stage with a performance inspired by Pastoral Symphony. Throughout the concert\, Dr. Stefan Sanders will offer engaging commentary from the stage\, helping audiences of all ages better understand the music and its connection to the natural world. Nature-inspired images will be projected on a large screen to deepen the experience. \nTo make the day especially interactive for young music lovers\, hands-on children’s activities will take place from 2:30pm until the concert begins\, and again after the performance until 5:30pm. During these times\, children can participate in a craft activity led by CFBG’s Education Team and explore a “petting zoo” of orchestral instruments. Guided by musicians\, kids will have the chance to see\, touch\, and learn about the instruments up close. \nThe featured craft activity is a rainmaker\, inspired by Paraguay’s Recycled Orchestra\, encouraging creativity through recycled materials. Children are invited to use their handmade rainmakers during the concert to help create gentle thunderstorm sounds alongside the orchestra\, adding a playful\, immersive layer to the performance. \nThis special afternoon is designed to spark curiosity\, creativity\, and connection — offering families a chance to experience live orchestral music in a welcoming setting unlike any other. \nLimited Capacity: Purchase Tickets at: https://shop.capefearbg.org/SelectEvent.aspx?eventID=1000138 \n\nAdults: $25 (Members: $20)\nCollege Student with ID: $12\nAges 12 & under: $10\n\n  \nThis project is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council\, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources
